Lancia Delta HF integrale - Cylinder Head Gasket
Lancia Delta - Cylinder Head Gasket with separate Fire Rings
The Lancia Delta reinforced Cylinder Head Gasket, with separately machined Stainless Steel Fire Rings, is the first choice for all high horsepower applications. This technology gives an extra margin of reliability over MLS and Standard type gaskets, used by the Abarth works Rally Team since day one. The main feature of the stainless-steel fire rings is, that the grooved section during install will protrude just slightly into the softer aluminium cylinder head material, thus giving an extraordinary seal compared to other types of gasket. Re-surfacing the cylinder head after the use of these gaskets doesn’t represent a problem, as the marks caused by the steel rings are minimal, as long the cylinder head hasn’t been machined already a few times, because other gasket have blown already a few times.
Applications
The gasket comes in two main variants, first one is for the more standard applications, up to 450hp, where the stainless-steel ring doesn't need any additional machining on the block. In this case the ring lays on the block deck and install follows just like any other standard gasket.
For high horsepower applications, where it is planned to use high boost combined with high cylinder pressure, we highly recommend using the second variant. In this case it is necessary to machine a groove into the block deck normally in the 0.5-0.7mm range, where the steel ring will be inserted. These gaskets are build only bespoke to customer specification, here we need all details such as piston diameter and outer ring diameter, machined height etc., contact us via info@speedshop.ch to discuss the details for your custom order. For all other just choose via drop down Menu the desired height and order directly.
Note
We recommend to use head studs to give a better guidance during cylinder head install, avoiding any misalignment of the steel rings. Important the grooved section has to face mandatory the cylinder head, otherwise there’s no guarantee for a proper seal.
